Senior Year

Senior year is such a special time, and I absolute LOVE getting to capture the memories of this season with a 2021 Senior Session!!

I had a blast with Rivers and her mom Tania at the Natchez Trace Overlook last week! Rivers is a homeschool senior and excited about all God has planned for her!

Rivers, as I have edited these fun images of you, I have prayed. The verse that keeps coming to my mind is 1 Timothy 4:12, “And don’t be intimidated by those who are older than you; simply be the example they need to see by being faithful and true in all that you do. Speak the truth and live a life of purity and authentic love as you remain strong in your faith.”

As you finish high school and transition into adult life, remember to remain strong in your faith! Trust Jesus to guide you through each step and decision. He sees the end from the beginning and knows the best path for you to take!! Trust Him!!

Mississippi State University Senior Session | Deanne Coley

It was such a joy to spend time with Deanne at her Mississippi State University Senior Session!! We had the best time walking around an empty campus (thanks to COVID) and reminiscing about each of our days there. It was so much fun to get to know this sweet girl and to see how much has changed at MSU since I was a student.

Deanne was part of the Chi Omega group session a few weeks ago, but also wanted a session of her own to get pictures of her in her cheer uniform. She also wanted to include special places on campus. I love the Chi Omega group session, but getting some one-on-one time with Deanne was food for my soul!

Deanne I have prayed for you as I edited your session, and I keep hearing Jeremiah 29:11 for you. “I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “Plans to prosper you. Plans to give you a hope and a future.”

I know these are crazy times we are living in right now, but God’s plans for you are GOOD! Keep your eyes on Him and He will you down the right path!

Clinton, MS Engagement Session | Allison and Gerard

Clinton Mississippi Engagement

Allison & Gerard’s Clinton, MS Engagement Session was an absolute dream to capture! The Clinton Nature Trails was the perfect location for these two nature lovers. I loved having all the natural layers to include in their images!

How they met…

Allison says, “I’m on the local art council, and every year we host a free children’s art festival for children in Starkville. I was working a drawing booth, and Gerard was assigned as my volunteer! We worked together all day, and then both decided to exchange numbers after that. We found out later that, unbeknownst to us, we had been set up by the volunteer coordinator!”

How he popped the question…

We were at a conference in Banff, Canada, and I left the conference early so we could go hiking. He took me off the trail a little ways through and got down on one knee. It was the perfect setting over beautiful Lake Louise.

My prayer for you…

Allison & Gerard, I am praying for peace for you both as you plan your dream wedding in the midst of so much uncertainty. I pray that you will experience the peace that surpasses all understanding. I am also praying that every detail of your wedding day will come together perfectly, even better than you dreamed!

COVID-19 may have stolen the end of their senior year and graduation ceremony, but these Mississippi State Chi Omega Seniors are ready to CELEBRATE!!

It was such a joy to spend a rainy afternoon on campus with this close knit group of girls! After four years of college life together, they are more than friends. They are sisters. And their love and joy for one another was evident!

Camille, Emily, Annaleigh, Madison, Emma, Caroline, Cristina, Deanne, and Kacey, I am so thankful for the opportunity celebrate with you as you embark on a new adventure!!

The Mason Family

I had so much fun last week capturing this sweet season of life for the Mason Family! Mom Jessie wanted family portraits before they move to Fort Rucker soon for Tyler to start helicopter pilot school. It was such an honor to capture portraits for this sweet family!! Clara Mae with those chubby cheeks and big blue eyes… I could just eat her up!

Tyler, Jessie & Clara Mae, I have prayed over you as I have edited the images from you session. As I have prayed for your transition to life on base the word PEACE keep coming to my mind, as well as the verse from Isaiah 26:3 which says, “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.” I will continue to declare this over you in the weeks and months ahead!

Taeler Williams may call herself “short and sarcastic”, but I call her full of fun, laughter and JOY of the Lord! I have had the pleasure of getting to know Taeler and her family through our church Crossroads of Life in Byram, MS. And we became even closer to Taeler as she spent many hours in the car with us during our spring break mission trip to YWAM Nashville! Seriously, with so many little kids needing potty breaks on our family mission trip, it took no less than 10 hours to complete our 6 hour drive haha! To say it was a lesson in patience is an understatement, and this spirited young lady created a Certificate of Completion in the Course of Patience for my husband who kept declaring that he was going to learn patience this time so God would move on to the next lesson haha! In all seriousness, this girl has reminded me that loud laughter really is the best medicine!

Taeler, Papa God has such amazing plans for you! He has gifted you with a voice to proclaim His Gospel message to all He puts in your path! He will use your gift of laughter to reach many for His Kingdom! He has given you this gift to share, and you share it well!

As you step into this new season, I pray specifically for abundant grace. Grace for each place as He moves you. Grace for the transition. Grace as you wait on Him. Grace as you allow Him to work in you and through you.

Taeler, you are a young woman full of God’s GRACE and POWER! You will perform great WONDERS and SIGNS among the people! I can feel His excitement over all He has planned for you!! Keep you eyes on Him. Walk with Him hand-in-hand. Experience His delight in you.

I had the best time with Sydney last Friday at the Town of Livingston for her Senior Portrait Session!

Sydney originally reached out to me back in January for her senior portrait sessions, and I am so thankful that we had such beautiful spring weather for her session on Friday! Sydney found me through her friend Hannah who is also a Meridith Lee Senior from earlier in the year!

Capturing Sydney with her beautiful blue eyes and radiant smile was such a joy and highlight to my week! I have enjoyed editing these images and thinking about our time together!

Sydney, I have prayed for you as I edit your images, and the verse that keeps coming to mind is Jeremiah 29:11 –

 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

I pray that the Lord with give you abundant JOY and GRACE for this season of transition! I pray for PEACE that surpasses all understanding as you finish well your senior year and begin to step into a new season with more independence! Keep your eyes on Jesus, allow Him to guide your steps. He will lead you in triumphant processions!

Allison and Chris | A Town of Livingston Portrait Session

Town of Livingston, The Chapel at Livingston, Anniversary Portraits

Have you ever met someone and knew instantly that they were your kind of people? That’s how I felt when I met Allison and Chris for our portrait session on Tuesday! It was clear from the first moment I met them that these were two fun-loving people who were passionate about one another! Laid back, easy going and full of laughter, Allison and Chris braved the cold to meet me at the Town of Livingston near Flora, MS to capture these joy-filled images! As we walked around this small town and talked about the different paths life has taken us, we found so many points of intersection between my life and theirs! Not only do they know my bonus daughter Taylor, but Chris was an attorney at my uncle’s law firm and worked with my step-brother! Seriously, we had the BEST time!

Allison and Chris, as I have edited your images I have prayed over you both. The scriptures the Lord has given me for you is from Proverbs 15:15, “the cheerful heart has a continual feast” and from Proverbs 17:22, “a cheerful heart is good medicine.” Your laughter was certainly good medicine for me on a cold winter Tuesday and I am so thankful for our time together!!

 

The Gregory Family | A Downtown Jackson Family Session

Meet the Gregory family. A joyful, fun-loving, Jesus filled family that I had a BLAST spending time with recently!

The Gregory kids gave Ms. Karen a family session for Christmas. With a very active family of seven, we had to overcome some scheduling conflicts to make this family session happen… and I’m so thankful that Mr. Todd was such a trooper and didn’t allow his ankle surgery and cast stop us!

I first met Ms. Karen and oldest daughter Lauren when I was a missionary in downtown Jackson at We Will Go Ministries. In fact, the Lord spoke Isaiah 26:3 to me through Lauren just before I moved to the Middle East. “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you.”  This is a Word the Lord knew I would need as I faced so many challenges in the years to come. I met second born Rebecca this past fall when she became one of my 2019 #meridithleebrides !! I loved every second of my time with her and fiance Adam in December at their engagement session and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in May!

The Gregorys chose Downtown Jackson for their session, and I am loving the urban feel of their images! We spent time on the corner of Capitol and Congress Streets, as well as just down the street at the Mississippi State Capitol. I especially love the shots in front of the white brick wall around the Govenor’s Mansion!

Karen and Todd, as I spent time with you and your amazing kids, the Lord kept bringing Psalm 127:3-5 to my mind. “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.” You have raised up your children in the way they should go, and now as you begin to release your arrows out of your nest and into the world I feel the Lord saying to trust Him to continue to build their lives on the firm spiritual foundation He laid for each of them. Oh what a beautiful heritage the Lord has given you in Lauren, Rebecca, Alyssa, Noah and McKenna!

Preston Peoples | Senior Portraits

The name Preston means “a priest’s village” or “a spiritual place.” Preston, the Lord gave you this name as a prophetic calling. He has called you not only as a son, but as a priest whom the Holy Spirit indwells and speaks through. He is growing in you a prophetic voice that will call many into the Kingdom of Heaven! Preston, you are a mighty man of God with a rich spiritual heritage! Your parents have worked hard to raise you in the way you should go, and you will not depart from it!

Preston, it was an honor to spend time with you as we captured these memories for you and your family. I pray that as you embark on this new season of life, that you will always remember your heritage, and that you will always stay true to who He created you to be.
