A Country Wedding At Sand Ridge Barn | Mr and Mrs Smith

Sand Ridge Barn Wedding

Hannah and Dustin’s country wedding at Sand Ridge Barn in Lake, MS was absolute perfection! I have enjoyed getting to know this joyful couple throughout their engagement season. Their engagement session at the Town of Livingston was beautiful and I was so excited to see some of the images from our session displayed at the reception! Hannah and Dustin are so full of JOY and you can just see their love for one another.

Every detail of the day, from the beautiful barn to the stunning florals, was simple perfection! Bethany of Oak Experience wowed us all with her beautiful designs and her team pulled off the event flawlessly! Hannah’s laughter and Dustin’s smile were the perfect accents to the day! The Name of Jesus was exalted throughout the ceremony as these two became one.

Hannah and Dustin, I have prayed for you and your marriage as I have edited these images. The verse the Holy Spirit has given me for you is from 1 Timothy 1:5 which says, “For we reach the goal of fulfilling all the commandments when we love others deeply with a pure heart, a clean conscience, and sincere faith.” The Lord has put the two of you together for a Kingdom purpose. Allow the love He has placed within you to grow and overflow to others He puts in your path. Your love and joy is contagious and will draw many into the Kingdom of God!

I loved capturing every moment of Hannah and Dustin becoming Mr & Mrs Smith at their country wedding at Sand Ridge Barn!

A Wedding at The Ice House Venue | Mr and Mrs Miley

Mississippi WeddingMr & Mrs Miley’s Southern Wedding at The Ice House Venue was timeless, classic, and full of JOY! Sarah + Nathan know how to laugh and have a good time. I enjoyed a day of laughing right along with them as I captured each moment of their beautiful wedding day.

My team and I arrived at the venue early to scout out portrait locations and to have time to visit with Sarah, Nathan and their bridal party. This was such a fun group to spend the day with! Sarah was stunning in her Madeline Gardner gown. Nathan’s timeless blue suit was the perfect selection to complete the look for this dapper duo.

You may remember Sarah + Nathan’s May engagement session and the epic field we found. I was so excited when they were willing to hop in my van and go to the same field for their sunset Husband and Wife portraits!

Sarah + Nathan, I have continued to pray for you as I have edited the images from your wedding day. As I pray, I sense the Lord’s love for you both. He has such amazing plans for your life together! Keep your eyes on Him and allow Him to guide your every step, every decision. He is for you, and His love is greater than you can even imagine! Allow Him to fill you with His love so you can pour out that same love to one another!

Thank you for allowing me the honor of capturing your wedding day memories at your wedding at The Ice House Venue.

Jessica + Wade | A Town of Livingston Engagement Session

Mississippi Engagement Session

I loved my time with Jessica + Nathan at their Town of Livingston Engagement Session last week! Jessica and I had only met via FaceTime over the summer for her bridal consult, and I was so excited to meet this couple in person! Jessica + Wade also brought along their beautiful fur baby Echo to join in the fun!

How They Met

When asked how they met, Jessica shared with me that she and Wade were high school sweethearts. “The first time I saw Wade it was the day of a big grade-wide exam. I wasn’t interested at first, but my friend took one look at him and told me, “you’re going to date him”. I told her she was crazy. Just a few short months later, after switching classes to avoid an unwanted teacher, I found myself sitting in front of this boy in my new US History class. A couple days later, I received a Facebook Message (so retro) asking about homework ~that we totally didn’t have yet because school had just started~.”

“He proceeded to ask me out three different times before my mom persuaded me to “give the boy a chance”. For our first date, we got dinner and went to a movie. He picked me up, dropped me off, and introduced himself to my parents. Who would have know that 7 years later, we would be where we are now!”

How He Proposed

I especially love their engagement story. “Christmas Day 2017 we were at his mother’s house with her whole side of the family. His mother has a tradition where she spends several months collecting the “perfect” ornament for each person that will be attending that year. She unwraps all of them, writes the year on the bottom, and decorates her tree with them. After gifts have been exchanged, everyone takes turns (oldest to youngest) to go up to the tree and try to guess which ornament is theirs for this year. I was the youngest person there that year and so I went last.”

“I went up to the tree, circled it a few times, and was a little confused because my ornament was usually a Mississippi State ornament but there weren’t any on the tree. After a little prompting, I went back around to the back of the tree and found my ornament. It was an ornament shaped like an engagement ring box popped open just like a proposal. I thought, surely this isn’t mine, but I took it off the tree and walked back around to see Wade in front of his family down on one knee with another box in his hand. I barely uttered a yes to his question before jumping into his arms and putting my real ring on my finger. He knew that Christmas holds a really special place in my heart but this was for sure was the best Christmas ever.”

Prayer

Jessica + Wade, as I have edited the images below I have prayed for you and your relationship. The word that keeps coming to my mind as I pray is HOLY. The Lord desires for your marriage to be a beautiful example of the passionate and holy love that Jesus has for His bride, and that the bride has for Him! He has such amazing plans for the two of you, walking in unity, to advance the Kingdom of Heaven!

Jessica + Wade, I hope you enjoy my favorite images from you Town of Livingston Engagement Session!

Outdoor Engagement Session at Livingston

Mississippi Engagement Session

Ashley + Kirk’s Outdoor Engagement Session at the Town of Livingston was such a joy to capture! It was a joyful session full of laughter and perfect golden light!

I first met Ashley last year when she responded to our ad on Care.com looking for a babysitter for Isaac and Pippa. We interviewed several, but Ashley was the person we chose to watch out little ones three days a week so I could work. Isaac, Pippa and I all fell in love with her and are so thankful for the time she spent loving our precious little ones!

Ashley + Kirk met at Ole Miss and have moved to Jackson for Kirk to attend The University of Mississippi Medical School. They are planning a January destination wedding in Turks and Caicos!

Ashley + Kirk, I have prayed for you both as I edited your session and the word the Holy Spirit keeps giving me is JOY! I am praying abundant JOY over you both as you enjoy your engagement and wedding planning season. I am praying for a JOY FILLED wedding and honeymoon in the islands! The Lord has such good plans for you both, and I pray He will draw you deeper into His heart as you seek Him for each step of your journey together.

Below are a few of my favorite images from Ashely + Kirk’s engagement session.

Town of Livingston Engagement Session

Mississippi Engagement Session

Lindsey + Payton’s Town of Livingston engagement session was such a dream! Perfect light, beautiful setting, and a beautiful couple styled perfectly!

Have you ever met someone and though to yourself “these are people I want to hang out with”? You just feel at ease and at peace with them. That is exactly how I felt about Lindsey + Payton! We talked about world travel, good food, and how to make a homemade air conditioner. It was also fun to discover that I graduated from high school with Payton’s older sister! I just love those moments when histories cross paths and the world suddenly seems smaller.

Lindsey + Payton, I have prayed for you as I edited these beautiful images. As I prayed for you, Holy Spirit gave me a picture of a gentle stream of cool clear water. I have a sense of refreshing peace. I am praying for the Holy Spirit to fill each of you to overflowing with His refreshing peace so that you can overflow to those around you.

I am so excited to work with Bethany from Oak Experience on Lindsey + Payton’s May 2020 wedding at their home and land in Pelahatchie, MS! I know it will be a beautiful day full of joy and laughter! Below are my favorite images from their beautiful Town of Livingston engagement session.

Hayden + Brandon | Engagement

Mississippi Engagement

I am so excited to share Hayden + Brandon’s engagement session on the blog today! I had the best time with these two as we captured this special season of their lives at the Natchez Trace and Renaissance.

Hayden + Brandon met during early high school when the were both participating in 4H Shooting Sports and became each other’s “first love”! Hayden says that “life happened and we were ‘young and dumb’ and broke up.” Years later when they were both in junior college, God brought them back together. They talked for a long time and sought the Lord before deciding to try dating again.

As Hayden neared graduating from nursing school, Brandon began to plan his surprise proposal. When Hayden’s childhood best friend was in town for her own bridal shower, he knew this was the perfect opportunity. Hayden’s best friend went ring shopping with Brandon, helping to choose the perfect ring. And they planned a “Nursing School Graduation Party” for Hayden with everyone working together to keep the proposal a secret from her. At the graduation party, Brandon’s gift to Hayden was a pair of scrubs with her name embroidered on them, but with HIS last name! Hayden says that he is such a prankster, so she thought it was just a sweet gesture. Then she saw a framed picture of the ring and note saying “will you marry me?” Hayden turned around to see Brandon down on one knee and just about passed out! She was so surprised and couldn’t believe that everyone had kept such a big secret from her!

Hayden + Brandon, I have prayed for you as I have edited the images from your session. The verse the Lord has given me for you is Psalm 126:2, “Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, ‘The LORD has done great things for them.'” I pray your mouths will always be filled with laugher and your tongues with songs of Joy! You will see the LORD do great things for you as you spread your joy and laughter!

Amber + Jonas | An Okalona, MS Pre-Wedding Practice Session

Mississippi Engagement Session

I love a solitary road trip… and the only way it gets any better is when the solitary road trip includes a pre-wedding practice session with a sweet couple!

Saturday afternoon I enjoyed my 2.5 hour drive to Okalona, MS for Amber + Jonas’ pre wedding practice session. We met at the house where Jonas’ grandmother grew up. This is also the front porch Jonas brought Amber to when he proposed to her. On that day, when they arrived at the house the front porch was decorated. They sat on the swing and he asked her to spend forever with him. Little did she know their parents were waiting inside to celebrate the engagement with them!

I love family heritage and heirlooms, so I was super excited when Amber + Jonas wanted to have their pre-wedding practice session at this special location!

I got to the house a bit early and enjoyed sitting on the front porch, drinking ice cold water and getting to know this sweet couple better. I love building relationships with my couples! I believe this sweet time together will help me to serve them better on their wedding day.

We started their session on the front porch with so many memories. Next we moved to the shade of the trees in the yard with perfect dreamy light. We ended their session along the white fence surrounding the pasture. This session was truly a dream!

Amber + Jonas, I have prayed for you as I edited these images. As I prayed the word that keeps coming to my mind is JOY! The verse the Lord is giving me for you from Romans15:13 which says, “Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of Hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable JOY and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate hope.”

Emily + Cameron | Engagement

Vicksburg Mississippi Engagement Session

I love engagement sessions, and this Vicksburg, MS engagement session with Emily + Cameron did not disappoint!

I picked Emily up at 5:00 and drove to meet up with Cameron at her family’s cabin outside of Vicksburg. I just loved getting to know Emily and her heart for Jesus on our car ride! We talked about church, ministry, worship, and her plans for including Jesus as the most important guest on her wedding day! I also loved hearing more about her love story and Cameron’s relentless pursuit of Emily’s heart!

How They Met

Emily + Cameron met during high school through their church youth group. He pursued, and love blossomed. High school graduation did not deter these two, and their love has continued to grow despite the long distance with Cameron at Ole Miss.

Proposal Story

On the four year anniversary of when they started dating, Cameron took Emily out on a date. After their dinner, he took her to the swinging bridge in Byram to talk. This is something they did often, so she didn’t suspect anything. As they were walking across the bridge, Cameron got down on one knee and asked Emily to spend forever with him! Emily immediately said yes, knowing without a doubt that this is the man Jesus created just for her!

Emily + Cameron, I have prayed for you as I edited the images from your engagement session. As I prayed, the word FAITHFUL kept coming to my mind. I sense the Lord saying, “Well done! Thank you for being faithful to Me, even in your dating and engagement relationship.” He took me to the verse from Matthew 25:21 where it says, “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’” I feel that with you marriage He is bringing you into a season of deep happiness and joy!

Emily + Cameron, I enjoyed my time with you on your Vicksburg, MS engagement session. I am looking forward to celebrating with you on your wedding day in May!

Hannah + Dustin | Engagement Session at The Town of Livingston

Mississippi Engagement Session

I had the best time last week with Hannah + Dustin capturing their engagement session at The Town of Livingston and getting to know them both better! Engagement sessions are such a fun, relaxed time to not only capture beautiful images, but to build a friendship with my clients. My heart is to be a trusted friend and not just another vendor when I arrive on their wedding day!

Hannah and Dustin’s love story begins at a tailgate party on campus at Mississippi State University. Love blossomed and as Dustin’s graduation approached he invited Hannah to join him for a photo session to commemorate his coming graduation. They returned to the spot where they met and were posing for a picture when he got down on one knee and asked Hannah to spend forever with him!

Hannah and Dustin, I have prayed for you as I edited the images from our time together. As I have prayed the word JOY keeps coming to my mind. The Lord took me to Psalm 18:2 which says “The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. he is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.” I pray that the JOY of the LORD will fill you both, and that He will truly be your rock, fortress, shield and strength! He is worth of your all! He is the solid foundation upon which to build your marriage and future! He is faithful and trustworthy! I am also praying for every detail for your wedding to come together perfectly, and for the day to go smoothly. I am so excited and can’t wait to see you again in October!

Anna Leigh + Houston | Engagement

Mississippi Engagement Session

I had the best time getting to know Anna Leigh + Houston at their recent engagement session! My favorite story from our time together was how Houston presented Anna Leigh with a Bible with her soon-to-be new married name on it when he proposed to her.

I am so excited to capture their beautiful wedding in October and can’t wait to spend more time with this precious couple!

Anna Leigh + Houston, I have prayed for you as I edited these images, and it is no coincidence that the Lord keeps taking me back to Ecclesiastes 4:12 where He says, “a chord of three strands is not easily broken.” The Lord is weaving you two together. He is the third chord. And when you are united with Him and one another, no weapon formed against you shall prosper.
