A Spring Wedding at Rosegate

Spring wedding at Rosegate

Mr & Mrs Walker’s spring wedding at Rosegate Venue was a beautiful day of celebration! It has been such a joy to serve and pray for Rachel + Luke these past months. I am so proud of how my associate team captured their day and I am excited to share all my favorites!

Rachel + Luke, I have prayed for you as I edited the images for the blog. Rachel, as I see the pictures of your dad walking you down the aisle and then leading you through your vows, Holy Spirit brought to my mind the story of Ezra and laying the foundation for the second temple.

When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, the priests stood in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the LORD, according to the ordinance of David king of Israel. And they sand responsively praising and giving thanks to the LORD:

“For He is good,

For His mercy endures forever.”

Then all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.

Ezra 3:10-11

Your are building your family on a strong spiritual foundation! Continue to praise and worship the Lord as you allow Him to lead and guide you. He is good, He is trustworthy. He is a good Father who will always lead you down the right path. Follow Him!

Rachel + Luke, it has been an honor to pray for you during this season. May the Lord bless you and keep you, make His face to shine upon you and give you peace.

Spring Wedding at The Ivy

The Ivy Wedding

Haley + Josh’s spring wedding at The Ivy and First Baptist Brandon was a beautiful day of celebration! Haley’s blush, white and gray color pallet was absolute perfection against the white backdrop of The Ivy! And I just love the pop of teal with the classic mustang! Every detail Haley chose for her wedding day showed off her classic style and rich family heritage. Family heirlooms were used throughout the day. From Haley’s veil originally worn by her mother, to the unity candle that was used by her grandmother and mother in their weddings. The rich heritage of love of Jesus and love of family shined brightly throughout the day.

Haley + Josh, your love for Jesus and your love for one another was evident throughout your wedding day. I have prayed for you as I edited these images. The verse the Lord led me to is Psalm 143:8.

Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning,

For in You do I Trust;

Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,

For I lift up my soul to You.

Psalm 143:8

God has led you in your relationship. He has brought you together in marriage. He will continue to lead you and guide you. Look to Him for direction. He will never fail you! His plans for you are good, to bring heaven to earth!

It has been such an honor to serve you during this season. May the Lord bless you and keep you, make His face to shine upon you and give you peace.

A Spring Wedding at Fairview Inn

Spring Wedding at Fairview Inn

Introducing the new Mr & Mrs Presley just moments after they said “I do” at their spring wedding at Fairview Inn.

Have you ever had the experience of meeting someone and knowing instantly that they are “my kind of people”? Yep. That’s how I felt when Peyton + Ken first reached out to me about capturing their wedding. When we were able to meet in person at their Riverside Engagement Session in Memphis it was confirmation that this joyful, Jesus loving couple would be an absolute joy to work with! I have looked forward to March 13 ever since!!

Every detail of Peyton + Ken’s spring wedding at Fairview Inn was absolute perfection! My team and I were in photographer heaven capturing every bit of it! When I sad down yesterday to select my favorites for the blog post, it was impossible to narrow it down to only 100. This is officially the most images I have published in a single blog post to date!

Not only was everything about Peyton + Ken’s wedding beautiful, but their friends and families were just the sweetest to work with. My heart was so full as I celebrated with them and truly felt like a special guest who happened to be carrying a camera.

My Prayer For You

Peyton + Ken, I have prayed for you as I have edited the images for this blog post. As I have prayed I see your marriage relationship being a wrecking ball for the kingdom that tears down strongholds! 2 Corinthians 10:4 says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.” The love and joy of the Lord that you both carry so well is a mighty weapon for the Kingdom of God! He has filled you to overflowing with His love and His joy, and you give it away beautifully!

It has been such an honor to celebrate this season with you. I hope the Lord directs our paths to cross again!

Madison + Zach | Ole Miss Engagement Session

Ole Miss Engagement

Madison + Zach made my photographer dreams come true with their Ole Miss engagement session this week! I have wanted a session on a university campus. When they asked if I was willing to drive to Oxford I may have screamed a very excited “YES!!”

Madison and Zach grew up in the same small town of Philadelphia, Mississippi. They went to high school and college together. They have grown up together and now they are excited to spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife!

I am so in love with these images we created together! But even more than that, I am so excited to know this sweet couple.

Madison & Zach, I have prayed for you as I edited these images. The word the Lord kept bringing to my mind is “steady.” According to Merriam-Webster, the word steady means

  1. direct or sure in movement; firm in position.
  2. showing little variation or fluctuation.
  3. not easily disturbed or upset; constant in feeling, principle, purpose, or attachment, DEPENDABLE.

What beautiful qualities to have as both an individual AND in a marriage!

Psalm 119:133 says “Make my steps steady through Your promise.” This is now my declaration over you and your marriage. And I think I’ll start declaring this over my own marriage as well!

Madison & Zach, thank you for taking time to show me around campus during your Ole Miss engagement session! Thank you for trusting me as I “followed the light” to find the perfect locations for your session! Thank you for sharing your hearts, and listening as I shared mine. It is an honor to know you, and I am excited to celebrate your marriage with you in December!

Kimberly + Jim | Engagement

Mississippi Spring Engagement

I am so excited to showcase the very first Meridith Lee Photography Associate Photographer Engagement Session!! Whitney did an AMAZING job capturing the love and joy of Kimberly + Jim’s spring engagement session at The Town of Livingston!

When Kimberly and I met for her initial bridal consult at Starbucks, I felt like I had found an instant friend! I loved hearing her love story and could have sat in the coffee shop talking for hours! Her joy is infectious!!

Kimberly and Jim met at work. Kimberly is a speech therapist and Jim was the tech guy at her school. After knowing one another for awhile, Jim was intentional about pursuing Kimberly. One Tuesday night at Starbucks he popped the question by having the barista write “will you marry me?” on Kimberly’s coffee cup!

Kimberly + Jim, I have prayed for you as I edited these images, and the verse that keeps coming to my mind is “The JOY of the LORD is your STRENGTH!” (Nehemiah 8:10). I am praying for you to be overwhelmed by the JOY of the LORD as you plan out the details of your wedding! Lift His Name high! Glorify Him! And He will work out all the details!

Mr and Mrs Bernardini | Timeless First Baptist Jackson Wedding

First Baptist Jackson WeddingMary Marie and Matt’s timeless First Baptist Jackson wedding was an absolute joy to capture! With Mary Marie’s timeless style and so many family heirlooms incorporated throughout the day, I feel I could have edited the whole wedding in black and white and you would think it was straight from a 1950’s classic film! But then you would miss out on seeing her beautiful blush and coral florals. And you just can’t miss out of the beautiful color of the florals!

We chose the Mississippi State Capitol building as the location for Mary Marie and Matt’s engagement session, and I love how their sunset husband and wife portraits are in the same location! These images will pair perfectly on the walls of their new home!

This timeless First Baptist Jackson wedding was FILLED with family heirlooms! This the same church Mary Marie’s parents were married in. The wedding gowns of the mother and grandmother-of-the-bride were beautifully displayed at the reception and the bride wore the same earrings her mother wore on her wedding day. Every detail was elegant and simply perfect.

As I watched the day progress, the love this church family has for Mary Marie and her family was evident. The staff of the church met every need. Countless members came together to make Mary Marie’s dream wedding come true!

It has been such an honor to get to know Mary Marie and Matt throughout their engagement season. I have prayed for you as I have edited these images and I keep hearing the word JOY! The JOY of the LORD is your strength! The JOY of the LORD will carry you through every trial that comes your way!

Mr and Mrs Parrish | A Classic Southern Wedding at First Baptist of Jackson

Classic Southern WeddingMr and Mrs Parrish’s classic southern wedding at First Baptist of Jackson was elegant and timeless. Every detail came together perfectly to give Rachel and Samuel their dream wedding day.

This was to be my first wedding at First Baptist of Jackson. Unfortunately the enemy tried to take my family out in a bad car wreck the day before. I am so thankful to Amelia Catherine & Co for her willingness to cover this beautiful wedding for me and love my couple well.

Rachel and Samuel’s love for one another shins brightly every time their eyes meet. Their joy is contagious and I have loved praying over them as I have edited these images. I see the love of Jesus these two share in every detail of their day.

As I have prayed, the Holy Spirit led me to this poem by M. S. Lowndes:

United Hearts

God has brought you here together
To be united in His love,
Joined in Holy Matrimony
With faith in God above

Let your faith guide your lives
With a measure of God’s grace,
For this is what keeps love strong
Through whatever you may face

Keep building your marriage on
The foundation of Christ,
It will not crumble or give way
Through the daily pressures of life

But it will stand the test of time,
Growing stronger day by day
Just keep your hearts truly united,
Joined as one when you pray

The cord that binds your hearts
Will not fray, or break in two
When you build your lives on God,
He will walk with you.

Mr and Mrs Pigott | A Classic Wedding at Lakeland Presbyterian and The Ivy

Marilyn and Will’s classic wedding at Lakeland Presbyterian and The Ivy Venue was simply beautiful. My initial client meeting for this wedding was actually with the mothers of the bride and groom, and I have loved getting to know Karen and Kim in addition to Marilyn and Will over the last nine months! These two families both have deep faith and have raised Marilyn and Will with a solid spiritual foundation.

I got to spend more time getting to know Marilyn and Will during their January engagement session. They are such a joy to be around! We laughed and had the best time! Our time together just made me even more excited to capture their wedding day!

Marilyn and Will, I have prayed over you and your marriage as I have edited these images. As I pray the verse that keeps coming to my mind is “the two shall become one.” I feel like the Lord is saying that many talk about two becoming one through marriage, but He is going to bring revelation to many of this deep spiritual principal through your union. He has such amazing plans for the two of you! You are going to shake the Kingdom and bring glory to His Name!

A Wildflower Bohemian Wedding at Bridelwood of Madison | Mr and Mrs McFall

Wildflower Boho WeddingHayley + Ethan’s wildflower bohemian wedding at Bridelwood of Madison was full of energy and excitement! The overwhelming, never ending, reckless love of God shined through every detail of their perfect wedding day! Bethany Sigrest of Oak Experience brought together an eclectic mix of natural, rustic and vintage details for this free-spirited bride and groom! Her floral designs placed beautiful wildflowers at every turn.

Hayley was picture perfect in her airy wedding gown, loose braid and flowers in her hair. Ethan’s grey suit, floral tie and leather suspenders matched her style perfectly.

Bridal Portraits

We had the most amazing filtered light pouring through the trees for Hayley’s bridal portraits! She looks so at home, lost in the forrest and twirling in her beautiful gown.

Bride & Groom’s First Look

Hayley and Ethan met at their beautiful outdoor ceremony site for their first look. They read the vows they had each written standing under this beautiful oak tree. They spoke of passion and adventure, a life as one. Together chasing hard after Jesus.
